on this administration. >> obama: she made the appearance at the request of the white house in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her. if senator mccain and senator graham and others want to go after somebody they should go after me. i'm happy to have that discussion with them. but for them to go after the u.n. ambassador, who had nothing to do with benghazi, and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence she had received, and to besmirch her reputation is outrageous. >> now where in there did he say "pick on" pop those were their words. >> stephanie: exactly. and by the way you know who is back to the administration is paul wolwitz. what everybody has said. there were fast-moving events from the middle east. they said this was the intelligence they had at the time. this is lindsay graham yesterday. >> this is about the role she played about four dead americans when it seems to me that the story coming out of the administration, and she's the point person is so disconnected to reality, i don't trust her. the reason why i don't trust her is b

. how confident are you in the white house team? president obama defended yesterday amid criticism he received for poor performance given the issue. let's take a listen to some of the criticism that has been employed. this is on the senate floor yesterday. john mccain called for the select committee to investigate the attacks. [video clip] >> why is it that anybody including our ambassadors to the united nations would believe spontaneous demonstrations are composed of people with mortars, rocket-propelled grenades, and heavy weapons? nobody believes that. why did president obama insists that he labeled the defense an act of terrorism on september 12 when we know now -- i repeat, we know now in an interview on the same day he refused to characterize the attacks in this way and spent two weeks putting the emphasis on a spontaneous protest to a hateful video including in his address to the united nations on september 25? we need a select committee. americans deserve to know. the families of those slain americans need to know. why in the world the administration or our friends and the oth
, gifts to minorities were not the reason that president obama won the white state of new hampshire, the largely white state of iowa. it's not why he won the hometown of paul ryan, janesville, wisconsin. so there's just a factual issue. but third and biggest, and this is where you heard the louisiana governor, bobby jindal, installed yesterday as the chairman of the republican governors association. this is where you heard him coming in, that republicans say this is a just-doesn't-get-it moment for romney. it makes republicans think that the 47% comment was no slip of the tongue. at his press conference in las vegas yesterday, governor jindal, our reporter, says became visibly agitated about this and said these comments were absolutely wrong. and they come at a time when almost every other leading republican figure is saying the party really needs to look inside itself and change karl rove. in "the wall street journal" today, it's saying the republican party needs to reverse engineer what the obama campaign did in its turnout efforts. senator john cornyn of texas, the head of the se
, or the white house has got to help him with a way out. >> chuck, it's s.e. you heard obama, president obama, yesterday at his press conference talk about the mandate to raise taxes. he basically said that this is what people voted for, and more pem wa people wanted this than voted for me. do you expect that to be the new party mantra, this sort of you asked for it, as opposed to, we're doing this because we think it's good economic policy? because honestly, i've got to say, you asked for it, well, the people also want a balanced budget. they want tax reform. they want a lot of things that aren't probably going to happen any time soon. >> reporter: right. i think he thinks on this specific topic, it was something that was in the exit polls, so it's something tangible that he can latch on to. and the fact is, on the tax issue, raising taxes on those that make over $250,000 has had a majority support for a couple of years. >> yeah. >> reporter: ever since this conversation has started. i think it's really on the specific topic. you know, s.e., if you really wanted to get in that exit poll, it
as it goes into effect over the next year. with obama safely in the white house for another term, house republicans say they will no longer try to repeal the affordable care act. but they are putting some intense scrutiny on how those changes are taking place. the house ways and means committee is now issuing a subpoena for health and human services secretary kathleen sebelius. they're demanding to know how the agency is using taxpayer money to pay for p.r. and advertising campaigns. health and human services has signed at least two contracts. one of those worth $20 million. the house ways committee says americans deserve to know where their money is going. meanwhile, employer health insurance premiums just saw their lowest increase in the last 15 years. at the beginning of the decade, premiums were going up by 10% to 15% but this year, the increase was just 4%. now the bad news, this does not necessarily mean lower cost for you. employers know when the healthcare reform goes into full effect in 2014, they will have t
about the angry petitions to the white house asking that certain states be allowed to secede from the union now that president obama has been re-elected. texas was the leader of the pack with one petition counting 70,000 signatures by yesterday afternoon. jon stewart weighed in. >> i think i can best express how i feel about these states and people in the words of the great william wonka. stm. >> stop. don't. come back. [ cheers and applause ] >> at least now i'm beginning to understand why southern states were so hesitant to get rid of the confederate flag. it's like keeping your fat pants after you lose some weight. you're happy for now with the new you, but pretty soon you're going to need those fat pants again! pizza! oh, demino's in staten island. >> then there's the issue of the latino vote which many republicans say they need if they have any hope of winning back the white house. listen to brian fisher, spokesman for conservative american family association they call themselves and you realize why the gop's problems with latinos run very deep. wait until you hear this guy.
